Terms

The deal, in plain language.

Summary terms. A full agreement reviewed by counsel replaces this page before launch.

Ownership

On final payment, the translation and all associated files are assigned to you outright. No royalty claim, no territory restriction, no obligation to publish through us or credit us.

Rights you must hold

You confirm at intake that you control the translation rights to the work. If a publisher holds foreign rights, you cannot commission a translation and we will stop the order.

The free sample

Two chapters and a translation brief, at no cost and with no obligation. We retain no rights over the sample and you are free to take it elsewhere.

Payment and cancellation

Half on commission, half on delivery. Cancel before the drafting pass begins for a full refund of the deposit; after that we refund the unstarted portion.

Disclosure

Every edition ships with a provenance record describing the process and the editor’s scope. We recommend disclosure on the copyright page by default, and in some markets it is required.
